CAD/Tech Packs
A pack which helps communicate all the technical aspects of your design.
Having over 17 years experience working in the Fashion industry as a designer working across multi-product, I have become extremely adept with drawing up full-spec designs ready for sampling.
I’ve worked with factories in China, Hong Kong, India, UK, Greece, Turkey and also pattern cutters and sample machinists, I understand the fundamentals of information needed to get the perfect sample back. This prevents having to resample which wastes time and money for both parties.
I can do both hand or CAD drawings depending on the item.
A CAD/Tech pack may include some or all of the below:
- A high-res front and back flat technical drawing - in either JPG or PDF format placed on industry standard template with your logo (if you provide).
- Full measurements and design detail references.
- Can be in colour and/or a print (usually a separate sheet).
Line Drawings
A flat front and back illustration of a design showcasing clear details.
Line drawings are useful to see rough ideas in a tidier approach to help scope out if any design amendments are needed before going into tech pack stages.
They can be created by hand or CAD.
Range Building + Planning
A summary of a collection.
Having a rough edit of your collection helps envision the final pieces, before having to invest in sampling. Your line up of items should communicate your key aesthetic and highlight if there are any styles missing and/or promote heavy editing. They can be as rough or as detailed as required, either a simple black and white summary or detailed with colour, fabric, names, approximate cost, units etc.
This is usually done by both hand and CAD.
