Sustainable Design
Minimising your impact on the environment.
It can be overwhelming knowing how to be a ‘sustainable fashion brand’ but just simply being conscious of how much fashion production negatively impacts the environment is already an amazing first step.
I can help you pinpoint areas on moving towards sustainability. This can be as little or as much as you like depending on your business strategy but it is really important to embrace sustainability into your business or there is risk of being left behind, and why wouldn’t you?
Some examples to help be a more sustainable fashion brand can be to:
Have less ‘trend’ items which come and go but this doesn’t mean it needs to be boring.
Use natural fabrics which decompose much faster than synthetic fabrics.
Source deadstock fabrics to prevent having to create new fabrics which is harmful to the environment through the use of herbicides, pesticides, dyeing, printing etc.
Ensure your care labels have clear instructions on the best way to care for the garment to promote longevity.
Upcycle fabrics and/or existing garments.
